It is with sadness that we announce the death of Mike Hughes who launched his one man rocket hoping to get to 5,000 feet to prove the earth was flat.
Sadly his rocket parachute deployed too early and he was killed.
As commercial aircraft fly at 30,000 feet people were wondering why he did not just get a ticket and look out of the window.
But later supporters announced he had not died, only broken his back - So we are awaiting official confirmation.
His rocket was steam powered and funded by the flat Earth society.
